Hello World!

I’ve been working on my own little blogging engine for the last month and a half, and now it is finally at a point where I can publish my first post with it. It is still missing many features that I want it to have, and I will be adding them in the near future, but for now it has enough for me to publish this very first post.

I know I could’ve used an existing tool to host my blog, there are many of them. However, at the moment I am unemployed, and so I have more time at my disposal than usual, and in an effort to keep my skills sharp, I decided to develop my own solution. It has been very enjoyable so far, especially considering that I am in no way using generative AI to produce the code or anything else for that matter. Every line of code has been written the good old fashioned way, by human hand. This is not to say I am against AI or that I don’t use AI in my life at all, but that I chose enjoyment and learnings instead of speed for this particular project.

You can expect me to write about a variety of topics, not only tech or tech-related things. We are more than just our professional careers, even if capitalists would like you to think otherwise. I will be indulging in writing about some of my hobbies and passions, maybe events in my life (past and present), books and movies I really liked and I recommend, or just sharing my opinion on particular events. I am also interested in publishing series about specific technical topics, but I first want to build some foundation for this in my engine, so that’ll come a bit later. I will try to keep a regular cadence, hopefully developing a habit of writing and publishing several times a month. I think this will also help my writing skills, which is great!
